And you see that there's no way And you wonder why You think the world is out of its mind You want to sleep until the end of time But there's one thing that you should know You don't need any of this no more You can make it alone, you just let it go and your free your mind, yeah, yeah Everyone is bringing you down You can't wait to get out of this town Your future's dark or is it bright You never know if you're wrong or your right But there's one thing that you should know You don't need any of this no more You can make it alone, you just let it go and your free your mind, yeah, yeah There's never a thing that you can ever believe You can never be weak and never naive You've got to see the truth in whatever you do so you can free your mind Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah And now you're doing time For somebody else's crime And you, you feel so trapped In your adolescent mind But there's one thing that you should know You don't need any of this no more You can make it alone, you just let it go and your free your mind, yeah, yeah There's never a thing that you can ever believe You can never be weak and never naive You've got to see the truth in whatever you do so you can free your mind Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Told her how I felt about her She didn't believe me at first I was prepared for better She was prepared for worse Told her I'd never leave her Yeah, she was the only one But she wouldn't get too serious She had to have her fun But you saw that we were something special We had a love that would never fade away (never fade away) And you know that I will never leave you (no I'll never leave) So tell me that you're gonna stay and you'll never go away But you saw that we were something special We had a love that would never fade away (never fade away) And you know that I will never leave you (no I'll never leave) So tell me that you're gonna stay and you'll never go away But I was very persistent And she was ohh so fine I wouldn't leave her alone I was gonna make her mine Then she turned around and Looked at me with emerald eyes Took my hand and she kissed me Said let's go for a ride But you saw that we were something special We had a love that would never fade away (never fade away) And you know that I will never leave you (no I'll never leave) So tell me that you're gonna stay and you'll never go away

Simple man now he has thrown away his chains Say it so, 'cause you know, let him go Days went by and now he's found the other sun Say it so, 'cause you know, let him go Thought the world was yours to take why can't you see I hope you'll know, that it's so, so let him go Possession of another one will lead to great despair Behind the back abuse is all we ever hear So let him go Yesterday you found that your life was incomplete I hope you'll know, that it's so, so let him go Lost behind a shroud of your insecurities Say it so, 'cause you know, let him go Drove him crazy with your views of everyone Say it so, 'cause you know, let him go Possession of another one will lead to great despair Behind the back abuse is all we ever hear So let him go Simple man now he has thrown away his chains Say it so, 'cause you know, let him go
